About SAPSKI Foundation
Zoë and Anthony Lyski created the SAPSKI Foundation to remove barriers facing talented young people who deserve opportunities beyond their current circumstances. The foundation's name itself represents their shared commitment — a merge of Zoë and Anthony's last names, symbolizing their united mission to level the playing field for the next generation while also honoring Zoë's late father Steve Sapiro, whose unwavering support for his family and passionate advocacy for education and youth athletics continues to inspire their work.
The Lyskis know firsthand what access looks like. They were able to send their oldest son Gavin on college visits, to camps, and to showcases — opening doors that his talent deserved but that many families simply cannot afford. When Gavin ultimately realized that playing baseball in college just wasn't his path, it hit both Zoë and Anthony hard. Fifteen years of watching him play and supporting his dreams had shown them just how much they'd been able to provide—and how many other families cannot. That realization became the catalyst for turning their family's experience into a family legacy. If their season supporting Gavin's athletic dreams had ended, perhaps it could mark the beginning of something greater: the SAPSKI Foundation, a way to ensure other talented student-athletes don't lose their shot at college simply because of circumstances beyond their control.
